Holidays at Last

All friends turned up at the river bank at 9.00 in the morning. Fifi and her parents were going on holidays. They wanted to spend it at their aunt and uncle on the other side of the river.

‘How are you going to cross to the other side?’ asked the worried Kitty.
‘Daddy will build a special boat on which we’ll sail the river.’
‘It’s going to be an adventure!’ the Ladybird shouted and turned two somersaults in the air.  ‘I’m happy too’, admitted Fifi. ‘It’s the first time I will sail on a river.’
‘We’ll miss you’, squealed Pufa and Fufa, and the rest of friends confirmed.
‘The whole two months without you’, sighed Maurice.
‘I know!’ exclaimed Pufa. ‘We are going to write letters to each other. We will ask a nice bird to deliver our messages to you.’
‘Hurrah! And I will hand over my letters through him!’ called Fifi.
‘Fifi, the boat is ready. Get on!’ called Dad.
‘See you!’ called Fifi and she waved goodbye to her friends.
