May Picnic

‘Tomorrow we are going for a May picnic’, exclaimed Pufa and Fufa.
‘Where to?’ Fifi  was surprised.
‘To the lake. Everybody takes something to eat. The Anteater and the Hedgehog prepare juices to drink, you Fifi sandwiches, Pufa and me fruit.’
‘We are meeting at 11.00 at the old oak.’
When it struck 11.00, the group of all friends met together. Everybody had a rucksack with some provisions on their back. Kitty took a blanket to be spread on the grass, and Maurice a ball.
‘Let’s go!’ Pufa and Fufa gave a sign to march out.

‘It has been a beautiful day’, Fifi told her Mum her impressions. ‘Birds were singing, butterflies were flitting, frogs were croaking…’
‘Because that’s precisely May,’ whispered Mum.
